Without Time or Space, What’s a Bird to Do

The once was time
and no longer no shorter
medium as nothingness
and there was a sparrow
named Darrow driven to song
under timeless musical conditions.

The tree Darrow freed
felt absence by silence
barking again the denial
branches browned and blued.

A monitor lizard
recognized impossible space
and went from the beach to the forest
on the spur of the foment.

for any sign of unfair
or any heights wriggling 
out of their pact with width.
