Weather Words Will

From the heaving shoulders of the young
the ancient drop off tangents and call them
folly and holly and molly and good gosh golly
here we were and they were there and all those eyes
those eyes were shining with the shingles of the roofless
houses where we won't sell because taxes and propriety
and familiarity and there will be a moose in the driveway
mossy and glossy and spouting louses from fur
and the brink of sink where there is water, tepid tepid tepid
insipid as a concubine with all the power of the emperor's vulnerable
balls hanging over the side of the bed and calling the knights
to order to borders to the loss of limb that the tree does not
need, this is no fruit tree, this is a tree of a great many shoulders
and you may lean on the chest and feel the heaving below the bark
and know that the earth will break into its constituent sparkles
losing eventually the farce that we continue to narrate, life
and its knife and its supposed halves and befores and afters
none of which can spell because they prefer to vocalize
and never consider weather words will remembrance
