Dirigible Shame

Looking down at balloon hands
Inflated with guilt
Eyes reminisce of days before memory
Passive voices: encourage, meant to nurture
A being becoming

Now here ringing ears
Resound with unrestituted wrongs
Unrequited justice is a griefsong
For perpetrator and victim

Self-admonition is hydrogen
To inflate fateful orbs
And unending punishment
Scorches the earth

We can both have it
Whisps a third voice
But until then
Don't light a match
On the dirigible Shame
