when a painting is painted keep painting

cease the search for commas
and periods
the semi-colon is implied by
the pause you might make

and there is always and
or perhaps or
at the ready to keep
the brush moving 
across that which you
call canvas while the impulse
to stop comes up steep
like a hill

and because you got the curse too
like the god you defied
there is no stopping this boulder
from getting up on your shoulder
and painting another song in the sand
