Story Water

Hello, I am a fish
we must be in the water, yes?
With any luck, you're breathing too
in and out, oxygenation brew

along with the chemicals
we seem to be here
with narrative elements
beginnings and dénouements 

in a way we are drinking
a habit of need
why we aren't sinking
goes beyond me

but is it the stories
that keep us on up
or are those just pities
for passing and puff

it can't be ignored
but we can see instead
a passing fjord
glad we're not dead.
