Another Wild Divide

Split, like a singing canyon cut,
two villages, pillages by ravages
uninvited and unperpetrated

Can nothing perpetual picture
parallel postures, spines who
never lean toward?

Sparrows talk close up
when the bush crowds
the song elates

Give nature dues
and that's taxes
or death's other word

The human fracture
suffices its purpose:
clarity comes from the mud

Could fractures act
more than apart?
Interrogative art?

Spare no diction
for this friction
aspiration thirsts

Boiled and poured
after a roast
tongue loss, mind gain

Coffee toffees
thickening strict eyes
light in light of dark
