To Be Clear

I squeeze myself
from the tube,
brown as the glass,
whetted by each watercolor, 
thick as if oils, 
and I mean to be clear 
at least when looking back.

How can I peal blue 
from this box of bells? 
Why can't my sea foam 
one big bubble?
