In Here Be Dragons

There are little people
in my chest who need a hug

Each is sure of clarity
as blue as hearts can cry

Clutches are their hutches
their rabbit feet all lie

When I'm bumped and stumped
or otherwise slumped

Recriminations cloud
my hazelnut eyes

Light behind curtains
makes outside extra dark

So I send my friendly polar bear
from my cap to sternum

To embrace Shame and Guilt and Fear
my residential dragons
