Desert

Frigid desert braises water
Touched by light
Unknown heat

Heartbeats are basins
Below the level sea
On top of another snake ridge
Scorpions are drenched with wet pinpricks

You'd sip the poison
To quench your thirst
As the moon implies tides somewhere
But every ray is fire and blanch

Power is ice
Where a melt schedules
The decline of lifeblood flow
