Fame and Pretense

Never first person
Instructions from a heel novelist;
Stay behind my right foot
And let your hangdog drool
Eat a morsel by my command

It's a ladder for the first
And a false hope for the rest
Cannot go is the daily snow
For those without shoes
Or blankets, a hot one
Is as wracking as a chill

Stay away for a day
And stay awake all night
It's collar stays for May
And take a bath instead

You heard it hear thirst
Listened after questioned
Whose purposes were
Obsequious genital snorts
