Leavings

Taking the fall
from the unchanged 
bark bites the edges
of brilliant yellow
denying the pain
that will go 
to ground
raked
torn
leapt upon
and bagged
to go no-one-
knows where,
not to forget 
to end out of sight
with new minds.
