A New Place

Here, where I am,
is new and old
and familiar, don't say strange,

there is a big dictionary
and overuse may lead to
estranger items, elements
not of an earth you thought you tread,

where you speak to yourself in
the second person,
narrating to a me that says I
only with a hesitation,

crafting waves of obfuscation,
beautiful commas on the generous
ground, failing to alliterate the
way that might have
demolished all that was

carried from there
to this new place.
