Winter Pause

It's a meal in one part
over as much time as you have steps
a brightness
vinegar fresh tomatoes
bake the rays
make the day
into an imminent future
sprung upon a surprise
(for watching the weather news is a mistake)
information vs. experience
a dichotomy I reject 
and radically accept
reading too many books
absorbing more moments carefully
counting that which pays
in more than money
while trying to forget
all I've ever known.
