Act One

It's always the first act
in the theater.

Scripts roll out of the closed doors
framed by the characters
as they are at the edge
of the stage, with the clock striking
noon, noon, noon
but isn't it midnight?

We have to ask if it's tomorrow
when the moment doesn't have
any sense of date
while sitting making life
out of matter
it's not a decision
nor precision.

It's at this point
that it began
and ended
and happens to be.
