A Little More Than a Sliver Moon

Caution walks down the road in the
Limited moonlight because it's that time
Of the cycle, two wheels or less, two feet
Or more gliding along the water watching
The pelicans taunting the fish who have no
Chance to see the light of the next day, in a
Gullet unforgiving listening to the laughter
Of the end of the road knowing we are going
Places beyond this temporary home
On wings above the previous sunset
Well before the adjacent rise
