Complications, Unnecessary

When something
is simple
I must make
complications.

Complications
are simply
not something
you want.

And yet here I am
cutting a blade of grass
boiling it for an hour
adding fifty ingredients
and offering it to you
as a tiny cup
of soup.

The complications
of soup:
burnt tongue
bad belly
bristled teeth.
