Face the Faces

The faces are
the new facts.

Our zone of tact
handles poorly
under these new
conditionals.

Noses squeak as they scrunch
unsure whether they
have seen something
or smelt themselves.

Mouths journey
from eyes to ears
conspiring to smile
in the face of their tears.
