Where to kneel?

Once again,
a spandrel comes to mind.

And I am a mind
with an arch aching
for a march

even as it has been
even as I have been
fixed to the side
of the cathedral.

Complicated places of worship
are the closest competitors

to a pile of rocks
dropped by time
at the base of a mountain
built by time.
