Aliveness Sans Alive

On one of those fences
a daisy chain airport fence
a two-seatbelt three-post barrier

brown leaves hang
whispering to me
do you remember

where we came from
how we fell and were
resurrected from the ground

to find this fence
our new tree
where our deaths

refrain meaning
without our previous air
borne away green
