write – v., the attempt to translate a series of electrical signals into a constellation of symbols that might lead to another electrical signal-set that might lead to a handshake or a hug

handshake – n., a greeting between people that is allowable when the world is less afraid of imminent sickness from human contact

tragedy – n., a moment that gets converted into a story in which the opposite of the best thing that could happen happens

happening – ?., the notion that an event might be in progress at a particular moment in time, going from one state to another, even if both states are the same

time – n., a farce that is used as a trope to make movies (and money)

money – n., an contract on paper that, in holding it, you agree not to overthrow the government

government – n., a family that has gotten too big for everyone to sit at the same table for Thanksgiving

table – n., a flat surface with legs that is meant to replace the feeling of community that comes from sitting on a horse

horse – n., a car that runs on oats and is not street-legal

legal – adj., a hue that is meant to advantage the holders of many contracts

contract – n., a mechanism for making cruelty seem acceptable, as long is it’s only done in the future

future – n., a story about how you’re going to suffer and die, and how you might avoid that suffering and death if you figure out how to hold more contracts

you – n., an electrical impulse-set in my brain that conceives a reader reading and experiencing this definition

solipsism – n., a thing that looks at itself and the things around it and sees that endless tunnel of reflections that can be seen when two mirrors face each other in just the right way

coffee – n., the preferred and highest use for water

water – n., something to fear, particularly with the infiltration of malicious interlocutors (see Gen. Ripper’s diatribes)
