Endings and the Bottom

The end has ended.
Time has ended.
Expiration is complete.

All the things that were
going to die have gone
and done what they
were going to do.

We shall not hear
from them again.
So it went.

There is an asterisk.
Follow the star
to the bottom
of the page
and find out
that all the finish
was rubbed off
by a feeling
that none of those dealings
were real.
