When I see myself and there is no mirror in sight
I look away in revulsion and fright
Aghast, I see who I am
In the face of a stranger
A metaphorical scan
Results inconclusive
But not looking good
Procedure to heal
Is most intrusive
With how I feel
I look a bit closer
We aren't so bad
