On Lakes with Hooks

When I think about the
trout I have killed,
my cramped elbows
become sources of
spines. Remind me
what your eyes looked
at before the water
was taken from
your frigid mercurial
flesh. Refresh me
with your ease.
Contact my boats
they remember
my sicknesses.
