Read to Rest

One more language extrusion
unfocused
a basket in my head
filled with woven history
leaking
rotting
enhanced by stasis
more than by effort
as assured as a person
as an identity
each fickle
like an October leaf
dead and alive on the wind
ready to rest
on the sleepy lawn.
