The Morning, Early

Yes, tired.
Yes, dark.
Yes, bleak.

The morning prior
to dawn
doubles the meaning
of the morning
post.

Each replication
earlies to bed
to make the coffee
taste all the more
sweetly bitter.

Tired, dark, bleak
speak to the prepositional soul
and say, go on,
the holes that call to you
are your friends in the earth.
