"How many"
comes into my head
as my heart stumbles
on the five beat line
coffee delivers
until the third cup.

Chemistry and the body
are more complicated
than more complicated,
recursively stumbling
from one number
to another letter
to someone who
will not write back.

Gather three pages
rip up the worst
then paste the last two
to the fridge
and then choose.
