"One flew
over the cuckoo's nest"
straitjacket lullaby

the year is nineteen
or maybe twenty
twenty three
and the patient suffers
from an excess of youth

tie it down
make it sleep
take its motions
whitecloth steep

for the comfort
of the jail
silent quiet
immobile trail.
