Ardorticulation

When a new word lands,
its talons extend into the loam
the soil bleeds for touch
a consecration of the air's
contributions to the land.

Wings make new Daedaluses
and the sun is the Icaran exposer
each beak pecks both keys
as the pianist for the flock's
orchestral commune nest.

Which passion brought these
cormorants, these geese,
these wood ducks, these pelicans,
to the shallow river shore
to practice and preach and chorus?

A shove and a hiss
for fledgling feathers
hawk eyes and luck
pluck life from the caws
of breathless death.

Whooshes have stochastic
outcomes; inculcations carry
attentive hollow bones
to splendid storm vees
thunder headed home.
