One Warm Foot

After a first sock
is knitted, there
is a period of
days when a
single leg's terminus
is jealous of the
other's cotton
continuity. A
walk in winter
cuts painful and
short by nakedness
in a boot. Focus
not on the chill
side; find grace in
one warm foot.
