A Handle on It

The asphalt scuds past
like footage of war
non-war street for shame
feet walking only like metaphor
for driving driving from home
to the plate the perfect circle
cycling as a failure to fall
all the way in like the opposite
of a missile a dandelion is in
sufficiently different its ballistic
seeding smells like growth
which sounds like both
which handles like a road
where simile chatters
because it's that safe
so safe you don't
need to lock it
down or away
that choice to fail
to know
