Paper Only Cuts when it’s Alone

Experience demands proof
for its geometry implies
dimensions beyond
the visible.

What words could trace
a shape which must rise
from the page
to the eye?

Sentences are sentenced
to life between the lines
where ink stains grasp
for meaning in the dark.

A sheaf is insufficiently brief,
too long to say much more
than I was here
longer than you.
