Rustle Tree, Infant Whisper

Ahsabuubahsa,
I say to the baby.
He responds
to running water
with sleep.
Also walking
if he's not watching.
We are a little herd
grazing within doors
and beyond windows
where the wind
owes the pine
for recording
its presence.
