Attentive Consumption

Attention eats words and drinks images
digesting each component of cultural input
with a billion bacterial balloons
flying higher than the longest kite.
Weather and the other topics of 
easy conversation fail the reality test:
there can be there there when there is 
no place where a mind can be what it is.
The thinking mind thinks. The finding mind
finds. Fine. Each archetypal state defies the 
immediacy that the memory of only this,
this moment, can allow to sit at my table.
