Caring Attention

Care is lower class,
well below
freedom and control.
In spite of care's 
plighted society,
it's becoming 
better known:
attention binds
being to itself.
And isn't coherent
how we like
our bonds? 
Care, though,
spreads out
one day, boils
down to a point
the next. To care
is to stare down
a lifetime's minutes
iced and splinted
while you lend your
shoulder's crutch.
