World Government

Prior to organization,
approval and a seed.
One person, elected,
given that mandate
to lead. Each a vote,
the humans note,
here is who we
wish. Squishy issues
feel the doom
knocking on the
globe; so door the
score and as our core,
group to light the
light. Cities on hills
and pity at will, the
government shall form.
Storms and lore and
tried befores pass under
the bridge. Winches pull
each finch and gull
along to see the ocean.
Rise, surmise, before the
eyes concerned at failure's
future -- cast and fast
and trim the mast,
the earth will yet
take sutures. As we
heal and feel and deal,
losses fill our breath.
Death was hungry,
but now meals and
more than peels sit
on all the plates,
medicine and better
pens may kneel at
sickly gates. Who
knows what grows
when our world's nose
determines how to smell.

Consider if the whole world could hold an election to form a global government. While this government would control no territory as modern countries do, it would possess an extraordinary mandate to work on transnational issues and organize a better present and future for the earth. How might every single living person cast a vote? How could the politics unfold? What might this leadership do?
