Fork tines highlight
a society obsessed with
the points. Deer hunters,
at least the trophy-drinkers,
have similar feelings (and
perhaps such things on
driving records). Teetotalers
see acceleration as an
option, but not a reason,
a co-option, not a necessary
season. To buy in the hands
of the needful is not consumption,
rather it's fulfillment. Sharpest
clarity comes after the knife and
between soup and dessert.
Paragraphs demand extra
space and when sentences
run on, the whole organization
grinds its teeth and waits.
