Thermostatic equilibrium
is a blanket set away
played on blades that
turn the air's warming
drying sway. Hands, 
though, gloveless and
grabbing for themselves,
may indicate that this
homeostasis ice boxes
with shadows of an
inconsolable sun; too
far to hug, too near to
see -- like the children 
of parents.
