Mind-Sunk Plea

Sour grapes hang over human hearts;
the wine-drunk wheeze seeks elevation
in inflicted suffering.

Have you heard the chickens cry?
Or seen their chicks be cut?
Pigs are sweet and subtle minds.

Oceans full of fruit is marred
by rods and rope and rupture.
Bats feel the night beyond our dreams.

Birdsong is suffocated by personhoods;
robins sweat traffic with screams.
Whales meditate an entrance to the sea's soul.

Sour grape hangover, the human heart-
our wine-drunk me me me.
People are brilliant despots.
