Strategy vs. Action

Consider not a new world. Rather consider a way of doing something small. A day to day orientation toward freedom and contribution and care and equality that takes on a societal character only over time. The utopians start not with the end in mind; the end is their project. Living for the end is living for death and post-scripts. We do not need a manifesto. We need a to do things differently. Ask not what you can do for someone near you - do it.

And don't name whatever you're doing. Don't get into the anarchism, communism, socialism, libertarianism fights. They're nothing, mere wisps of bloody knuckles and long, smoky arguments. Only good, clean action makes a difference.

So what am I doing writing? It's an action. And mostly it's poems. But sometimes I need to organize my thinking and expose those thoughts. It's a sort of accountability mechanism: here is what I believe, people can see it and I can harness the commitment-energy that comes from being observed. Because I've been trained for long time to not act on what I see. I should write a report about what I see so that everyone who has the power to change things, myself included, can feel satisfied that a thorough analysis has been done and we need not take any action. Strategy.

I would rather live an action world, a micro rather than a macro society, where everyone is thoughtful and does things, rather than outsourcing and investing for abstracted "outputs".
