Status and Happiness

The taboo cause of a great good
Masquerades as anything else
I see a better way
Is I wish to ascend
and will thus be satiated
The former is true
The latter is a failure
To consider the fact
That sate is a state
So temporary 
As to make the icy lake
Quail at the sunny day
