There was a dam built into the middle of an important river; the construction materials were shoddy but it was over-engineered; much ado was made about the environmental impact; yet move ahead we did with the blockage, with tact; many did move out of the new lake's way; resettled in less than traditional accommodations; we said it was worth it and sometimes still do; but we don't walk on it anymore so we do not rue; that which was built is no longer sure; a breakage would bust this thing that was pure; projected to last for a generation more; down with a breeze it likely could tore; now all do is hold up each breath; hoping that dam does not lead to death.
