to spend your time staying staring spending
at the list in order so that your eyes and choices
and fingers find their way into the center left pocket
or whichever, really, as long as you're continuing
the most important circle of life: paying Disney
a few bucks a month to watch The Lion King
whenever you want; can't you hear that sucking
sound, making sure you're full of worries
and heading back to your dysfunctional family
to bring order, maybe kill your uncle, and
pass down to your children the thirst
for elephant meat, conflict, stories
and something to spend your life
building up, holding up, staring down.
