As a pause sets in
when do double dashes
become a solid square
magnetic eyelashes

oblong stare
there's pain to be sure
and time that becomes
crawling to cure

ailing a bundle
of coldness and sweat
ideas arrive
bird-swimming wet

flying is gone
for another day
simmering dawn
the future's decay.
