When did the day start 
Was it at 2:45AM when you rolled over to me 
Did it unfold on the edge of the water in my dream 
Was the kettle's long chirp or coffee drips the beat
Sleep started it, a chicken's egg 
But manners say keep the cloth clean
After gesticulating the beginning
