When we say civilization
we mean a group of trees
who must each claim: this is 
how the sun stimulates needles 
to produce cones
and this is how these seed-packages
turn into more of us
and obviously why.

It's a place where other things
are well in hand
as one bird
where bushes did not exist
nowhere to hide
plentiful food
cognition is a bias
to theories which explain
all you've never seen.
