The phrase "the new". An unfamiliar moment or thing
Perhaps we can agree is a more comfortable phrase
To say what I think we mean; but I cannot know
Knowing that my familiarity with the eyes of either
You or me does not make me knowing, in any sense,
So we remain, I remain, you stay, in a darkness not
Total enough to disappear into, but complete enough
To deny the assertions of instructions and void the
Terms, conditions, contracts, that were written
Under the candles we pretended to light before
Leaving the cave we never left.
