Safe enough to play

consider this: risk cannot lead to fear
until consequences can be predicted
prior to the development of foresight
it's all Rosebud and snow
after the fall and other falls
the possibility of the future
as a thing to comprehend
becomes an urgent need
until consequences can be
accepted; at which point
the future may be a hobby
while play is the job
