Found, Presently

I slipped into the present today
By accident, sitting on the couch
As the sun streamed in from the south
At such an angle to cover my body

I remembered the notion of the moment
Lost to the before and the after as
I waded through a past muck
Of possible future toils

As my memory opened
I balanced back and forth
From that which definitively happened
To all that which might

Landing on the moment of the light
Poised on the edge of back to back cliff faces
Flying up and down each instantly
Seeing the instant between

As a moment that lasted for minutes
The possibility of stopping on that
Present is a future worth the effort
Of finding that sun again
