Last Drop

toes shiver as concentration breaks
the distractions shower
soaking the hands
calling
demanding an answer

I lift the cup
bend my hand
take the last of it
cold drop
up the turned glass

what next
the question rings
taunting
I look up
bring in air
take to my feet
as I dash off a final line
and prepare to go
