Ripples

Yellow blade cuts the surface
A swirling redirection
Of water at rest
Propellant, forward
Through my body
Above the vessel
Subjected to my whims
Across docks
Along shorelines
Lives unfolding
Sails leaning into a wind irrelevant
To my current
Propagation on the stillness
Easy swaying
I'm a butterfly
While the sky is a chrysalis
The water is my milkweed
